Most Popular Digital Cameras of May 2011 by Skywalker2010
Take a look and see which camera took the biggest drop in views. This list of cameras shows you what visitors to DigitalCameraReview.com viewed most often over the past month. The rankings are determined by the number of times a particular product page is viewed by our users. The rankings below are for the entire month of May 2011.
Canon PowerShot SX20 IS, The Canon SX20 retained its top ranking in July with a 20x optical zoom lens. For well under $400 on the street now, it's a good buy as back-to-school looms on the horizon Canon Cameras Charger.
Nikon Coolpix P100, The Coolpix P100 also keeps its spot as the second most-viewed camera on the site in July. With a 10 fps burst shooting mode, it's built for speed. A 26x optical zoom lens puts you closer to the action. Prices haven't strayed far from the $400 mark, so all of those features are still coming with a hefty price tag.
Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS, Jumping into the top five is the slim Canon SD1400. Part of a very popular lineup of Digital ELPH cameras, the SD1400 delivers 14.1 megapixels of resolution and a 28mm wide angle lens. For just over $200, it's extremely pocket able and easy to use.
Nikon D3000, Nikon's DX format D3000 entry-level DSLR maintains a steady position in the top five. It's not hard to understand why it was one of the most popular cameras of the year with a 10.2 megapixel sensor and beginner-friendly features all at a sub-$600 price.
Nikon D5000, The D5000 slips back into the fifth slot in our list, though it's had an impressive run in the top five dating back to last May. It sports a 12.3 megapixel sensor, tilting 2.7-inch LCD and 720p HD video recording - for a few extra benjamins, of course Nikon Cameras Charger.
Canon PowerShot SD780 IS, The SD780 jumps up a few spots. It's a versatile little point-and-shoot with 720p HD video recording and good image quality for the backpacker or club-goer alike.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7, The ZS7 garnered an Editor's Choice from DCR in April for superb image quality and versatility. Its 12x optical zoom lens offers a range equivalent to 25-300mm, providing a wealth of shooting options in its wide to telephoto range Panasonic Cameras Charger.
Canon EOS Rebel T2i, The flagship Rebel T2i contains an 18 megapixel CMOS sensor almost identical to that of the prosumer EOS 7D. Selling for under $1000, it offers remarkable versatility and high-quality image capture.
Nikon Coolpix S8000, The little Nikon S8000 maintains its place in our top ten with its sturdy 10x optical zoom lens and 720p HD video recording capability. About the size of an Altoids tin, it was a snappy performer and a well-balanced point-and-shoot. You might be able to snag it for under $300 right now.
Sony alpha NEX-5, It could be that some of the buzz around the mirrorless NEX-5 has died down since its launch earlier this year. In any case, the NEX-5 falls into the last slot in our most popular list. We love it for its innovative design and compact size, but we didn't love its dense menu system. Prices aren't budging from the $650 mark, and it's doubtful they will even with back-to-school sales around the corner.
