Why Buy Nikon D7000 DSLR Camera?

The Nikon D7000 digital SLR is a winner. The camera promised a lot and delivers even more. Since it was launched in September 2010, it has quickly established a sizable band of loyal fans as a mid-range camera. Sitting somewhere between the professional D300S and the prosumer D90, the D7000 provides top value for money and is widely considered one of the best cameras in it market segment.

The company now has a four-digit numbering scheme for its consumer level cameras. The Nikon D7000 is the third to adopt this nomenclature following the D3000 and the D5000 both released in 2009. It represents a new class of camera between its two-digit prosumer and three-digit professional models.

The D7000 DSLR camera has a 16.2-megapixel DX format CMOS image sensor coupled with the proprietary EXPEED 2 image processing system. Within the company stable, this pixel count is exceeded only by the D3X with 24.5-megapixel. The camera creates images with smooth tones and resolution rich enough to satisfy the most demanding photographers.

The camera has a familiar three inch 920k VGA and liquid crystal display monitor. Its dense calibration produces striking color integrity.

The Nikon D7000 DSLR camera has 1080p high definition video-making, with stereo sound and full-time autofocus plus full manual control. The camera can produce full cinematic quality videos with a length of up to 20 minutes. The camera comes with a jack to attach an external microphone.

Some of the minor design improvements include various changes to the more usual body design. For example, the camera has custom settings that can be set conveniently via the mode dial as opposed to the menu interface (that sometimes can be confusing). There is also a dedicated movie record button. And there are 2 SD memory card slots.

The Nikon D7000 DSLR camera has a formidable ISO 100 to 6,400 range. This light sensitivity range expands to 25,600 permitting shots in low light conditions.
